BIOGRAPHY

Liu Li has used the modern oil painting technique to express the life and dream of ancient beauty, when she acquired the golden prize of Asia Art Festival in 1999. She starts painting the pink bareheaded ladies in 2000. She continues this theme up to now; however, the figures have become light in color.

The modeling of figures changes from precise to simple and exaggerative. The plump and smooth-skinned red lips become the characteristic of the round face. It reveals her willingness and love towards living. Moreover, she keeps pure faith in art in this tumultuous world from classical to modern unrestrained circumstance. In her new works, figures are looking at the sky and raising their arms. They sometimes play in flower field; sometimes, they swim freely in water. They look so joyful and free.
