LIU Qiang

BIOGRAPHY

Compare with traditional realistic paintings, Liu Qiang has a profoundly unique style and spiritual way of his own. Not only has the solid foundation in realistic painting, his efforts on the study of the styles and schools of the art of sculpture enhanced the level of his sensitivity to capture the details of the objects in his paintings. At the same time, through a lot of practices, Liu successfully combines classicism with contemporary elements and concepts in his works. His fine brushstrokes are so expressively saturated with sensuous feelings and the quiet sense of life impulse in the imagery exudes a calming energy.

Liu's work "Golden Days" won the copper prize in the 10th National Painting and Fine Arts Exhibition in Tianjin. "Flower Season" was in the 5th Tianjin Youth Painting Exhibition and won the gold prize. Many of his works and articles have been published on the journals such as "Northern Fine Arts", "Fine Arts Spectacle" and the newspaper "Today Evening". Since 1988, Liu Qiang is a lecturer of the Art School of Tianjin Science and Technology University.
